Before 14 years Sandalwood Smuggler VIrrapan was killed who had murdered more than 1000 elephants

                                  

Today in 2004 Sandalwood Smuggler Virrpan was murdered by Special Task Force. He was continuously 30 years interfering the state governments of Tamil Nadu And Karnataka. In the border forest of these two states he killed 2000 elephants for the smuggling of their teeth. Along with this, he used to smuggle sandalwood. He murdered more than 150 people. In April 1990, government of Karnataka oraganized a special task for Virrapan. In May 1993, STF arrested Virrapan's wife and children. In December 1994, along with 6 people he kidnapped SP of Tamil Nadu but after he left those people. Again in 2000 july, he kidnapped famous kannad film star Rajkumar with three peolple near Gajaanur. After this, the movement to catch Virrapan started.

Important:- Government announced the prize of 5 crore INR for Virrapan. At last he was killed by IPS Officer Vijay Kumar.
